HMDWL 27

Oh, episode 27. After several false starts, we love Julia Louis-Dreyfus, peeking into other people’s medicine chests, refrigerators, and shopping carts, and Rob loves smoothies. Plus a follow-up on listener Tommy’s Caramel Quesadilla Experiment and his sketchy Nutella Drizzler. Seriously, Tommy, what is that thing??

  1. Tommy Says:

It's just a butter knife. I stirred the open jar of nutella with it and went to drizzle with the gloppy knife.

  2. Kristina Says:

That is the oddest looking butter knife I have ever seen….seriously man, are you signing up for type 2 diabetes? You are so brave. Looooove it!

Okay, I've been waiting a long time to post this. I wanted to listen to the episodes … and maybe y'all have discussed this in later eps.

So I'm mulling on the Brown Sugar Grilled Cheese idea, and I have an idea that I **assume** is what the Caramel Quesadilla Experiment is. But then when I go check out the pics (seriously, Rob, you have a dirty dirty mind to see what you did in that innocent butter knife), I see that Tommy's having all manner of problems with structural integrity of his "quesadillas." And my idea would solve that…and push the Experiment into brave new territory.

So get this: what if you actually made a Caramel Quesadilla? As in a tortilla (flour or corn, both could be interesting) with a Wrapple caramel slice placed in it then cheese (Kraft Single? Cheddar? Chihuahua? I guess I'd vote for a good english Cheddar), then grilled or toasted it. It's basically a Brown Sugar Grilled Cheese Wrap! To snazz it up, you could add thinly sliced apple, which is a food item common to both caramel and cheddar. Or any of the other AWESOME ingredient combinations that Tommy invented. Or your ideas for the other Caramel Quesadilla recipes that Tommy spurned (please post).

Did you guys already talk about this and I just missed it?????

PS I'm realizing, now that I've written this, that the caramel-cheddar combination seems to be a continuation of early expounded-upon fondness for sweet and savory things together in the same food.

    It's official, people.

Kay has just BLOWN MY MIND.

This is the kind of forward thinking I can really get behind.
